Milad un-Nabi or Eid-e-Milad, commemorates the birth of Prophet 
Muhammad’s birthday. On this auspicious day, each and every Muslims all 
over the world celebrate this day with lot of zeal and enthusiasm. It is
 celebrated in the third month of the Islamic calendar. They even call 
this day as ‘Nabi Day’. Eid-e-milad 2016 falls on 13th December. On the 
occasion of Eid-e-milad,  people gather and celebrate the advent of 
Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. The Sunni community of Muslim’s celebrate 
this auspicious on the 12th of the Islamic month of Rabi’ al-awwal. 
Whereas the Shi’a community celebrate it on the 17th of Rabi’ al-awwal. 
Muslims celebrate the advent of the Prophet Muhammad’s teachings and 
even held social gatherings wherein they have night long prayers 
meeting. The date of this festival varies in the Gregorian calendar.
